The loss of a foetus within the first 20 weeks after gestation is known as miscarriage. The accurate medical term for miscarriage is “spontaneous abortion.” A woman who has had a miscarriage undergoes a painful heartbreak along with a sense of guilt. In a similar manner, if the thyroid produces excessive hormones, it interferes with the oestrogen’s functional ability and makes implantation unfavourable.

4) Blood Clotting – This is an uncommon cause of miscarriage, but miscarriages due to blood clotting disorders do occur occasionally.

As mentioned earlier, there is no medicine available to prevent a miscarriage but one can follow the below tips to reduce the risk of a miscarriage:

1) Vaccination history – There are many diseases that can increase the chances of a miscarriage. The positive aspect of this situation is that most of these diseases can be prevented by a simple vaccination. Hence, if you are unsure about your vaccination status, check your vaccination record.

2) Caffeine -When you are trying to conceive, reduce the amount of coffee consumption per day. This is primarily because coffee can affect the hormonal levels in your body.

3) Dairy products – Once you are pregnant, stay away from consuming raw meat and unpasteurized dairy products. These food products can cause infections that can lead to miscarriages.

4) Exercise – Doing moderate exercise on a daily basis has a host of benefits for you as well as your baby. At the same time, ensure that you do not overstrain yourself as this will increase your body temperature and could injure the baby.

5) Food – Ensure that you consume organic foods on a daily basis and do not eat the typical produce that contains pesticides and insecticides. The truth is that a miscarriage can happen to anybody who is pregnant. Being informed about its causes and precautions can be beneficial in handling the situation in an improved manner.
